Rabbit Bonding Terms & Conditions

Last Update: 11th November 2025

Vaccination
Please note that all rabbits who come to stay with us need to have been vaccinated against the new virus VHD2 also known as RVHD2 at some vets. The vaccine for this is called FILIVAC and costs around £40. This is in addition to the combined NOBIVAC vaccination which protects against the original virus strain VHD1 and Myxomatosis.
If both are due at the same time they should be given at least 14 days apart. Both are annual vaccinations. If either vaccination is due before your pet’s stay with us, please allow at least 8 days between the date of vaccination and the beginning of your rabbit’s bonding to allow immunity to build up and recovery from any side effects.
We will also accept the new triple vaccinations if we have proof from your vet.

Sickness
If your pet becomes ill, we will take them to see our vet and proceed in their best interest.
Any costs will be payable by you on the collection of your pet. We will show you the exact cost of our vets.
Pets that fall sick who require round the clock syringe feeding may need to be admitted to veterinary surgery where they can receive 24-hour nursing care. Rabbits who start to show symptoms of anything contagious will be quarantined at the vets whilst receiving care. These costs will also be payable on collection.
If your rabbit has been sick and seen a vet within 7 days of their bonding date, we need assurance from your vet that they are fit to stay with us to bond with your adopted rabbit.
Sadly, rabbits can pass away very quickly even after receiving medical treatment. Should this happen, we will contact you immediately to discuss your wishes. HABH accept no liability in the unlikely event that this may happen.

Fighting
We will contact you immediately if your bonded rabbits start fighting to arrange for you to collect your animal. Bonding fees will be adjusted accordingly.

Abandoned Pets
If you don’t collect your rabbit within 7 days of the agreed collection date (and you have made no contact with us to explain your circumstances) we reserve the right to rehome the animal, update their microchip details accordingly and you will have no further claim on the animal.

Refusal
We have the right to refuse to bond if on arrival your rabbit is showing signs of Snuffles, mite/lice infestation, illness, injury, are on a course of antibiotics for something that could be contagious or arrive with a dirty, wet or matted bottom.

Contract
You enter into a Bonding Contract once you have signed the Agreement.
By signing the Agreement you confirm that you agree to our terms and conditions for this and will pay all associated fees.
Pet owners must accept that accident, injury, illness, mite infestation (as hay & straw are natural products). themselves whilst visiting HABH are their responsibility and that HABH is released of any and all such liabilities.
